“Painting through the Window in Venice”

Venezia, Pasqua 2012

Venezia, città dell'arte, città della Biennale e di tradizioni culturali secolari, diventa il tema di un concorso innovativo di pittura : i quadri non verranno esposti in uno spazio espositivo chiuso, ma nella vetrine di svariati negozi principalmente a Venezia, ma anche a Mestre e  nei dintorni. Nel periodo di Pasqua 2012 il progetto invita ad una divertente passeggiata attraverso le calli di Venezia e suoi campi. Una passeggiata primaverile che rende possibile l'interpretazione sociologica dell'arte nella vita quotidiana della gente e che mette anche i commercianti sotto i fari. Venezia come città antica del commercio deve la sua grandezza in primo piano ai mercanti, l'anima della Serenissima nel passato e anche al presente. Di conseguenza, “ Artisti in Vetrina “ si rivolge non solo al mondo dell'arte ma a tutti i residenti e a colori che amano Venezia e si preoccupano della sua conservazione.

Gli organizzatori di questo concorso che non conosce barriere di nazionalità oppure età, sono l'Associazione Italo-Tedesca ACIT di Palazzo Albrizzi a Venezia in stretta collaborazione con il Gruppo internazionale di curatori e progettisti, TheSeven, e con l'Associazione Regionale die Commercianti del Veneto, la Confesercenti.

La scadenza delle iscrizioni che sono iniziate da poco, è il  6 marzo 2012. La commissione d giuria, composta da critici d'arte e da curatori importanti, valuterà le opere e ne selezionerà una rosa di cinque finalisti che parteciperanno alla mostra collettiva che si terrà nel mese di maggio 2012 a Palazzo Albrizzi. Questa dimora prestigiosa ha un ruolo significativo nella vita culturale di Venezia : oltre essere sede dell'Associazione Italo-Tedesca, Palazzo Albrizzi possiede anche una Galleria d'Arte che, in passato, ha ospitato alcuni progetti della Biennale. L'esposizione finale di “ Artisti in Vetrina “ è curata da Nevia Capello, Presidente dell'ACIT e da Elis Saint Juste, architetto e curatore di TheSeven.

“ Artisti in Vetrina “  riunisce diverse qualità per la produzione e la promozione della pittura contemporanea. S'intende come punto di partenza per gli artisti che desiderano esporre un quadro in una finestra che si apre al mondo. Dall'altro canto la mostra itinerante è anche una iniziativa stimolante per i negozianti che ricevono un maggiore numero di visitatori interessati all'arte ma che allo stesso tempo potrebbero diventare potenziali clienti

“Painting through the Window in Venice”

“Artisti in Vetrina a Venezia”
 

Venice, the historical city of arts, cultural traditions and of prestigious festivals such as the Biennale, has become the topic of an innovative painting competition : the art works will be shown in hundreds of shop windows spread all over the city. This is an innovative method of getting acquainted with the architectural and artistic beauty of a town by means of an innovative

exhibition itinerary dedicated to the Venetians and their international public.

The German-Italian Association ACIT of Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice, in collaboration with the international group of curators and architects, TheSeven, and the Association of Merchants and Shopkeepers of the Region of Veneto, Confesercenti, are the organizers of this enchanting contest for painters which has no restrictionon the behalf of origin background or age.

The registration period has already started and lasts until March 6, 2012.

A commission composed of art critics and art historians will value the art works and select a group of five finalists who will take part in a collective exhibition in May 2012 at Palazzo Albrizzi , prestigious residence of the ACIT and exhibition gallery which has already hosted many projects of the Biennale. The final exhibition is curated by Nevia Capello, President of the ACIT and by Elis Saint Juste, architect and chief curator of the TheSeven.

The project unites several important features for the production and the promotion of contemporary art of quality : it is a point of departure for who desires to exhibit an art work in a window which opens a look to the world and offers a new perspective to the visitors of Venice to get to know lanes

and squares distant from the usual tourists' path. At the same time the art show is a remarkable moment for the shopkeepers and merchants who will receive a huge number of visitors, interested in art but who could also become potential clients of the products on sale in the various shops.

Artists in the Window takes place under the patronage of the City of Venice and the Chamber of Commerce.

The project is an invitation to a walk through places where architecture and contemporary art become tools of interpretation and new reading of a city and its relation with art, nature and people.
